The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh has said that Nigeria spends over $1.3 billion annually importing milk as a result of inadequate grazing reserves.
The minister also said the long walk of cattle in search of grazing reserves reduces their milk production.
He lamented that many of the grazing reserves on Nigeria have been encroached by human being thereby making the herdsmen walk a long distance with their cattle in search of grass.
