The Head of Programme, OXFAM Nigeria, Constant Tchona, has said that despite that women constitute over 60 per cent of agricultural labour force in Sub-Saharan Africa, it’s only about 15 per cent of them that have farmlands.
He also said that if women have the same opportunities in agriculture like their male counterparts, they would be able to increase yield by 20 to 30 per cent.
Tchona made this known at the launch of Kilimanjaro Initiative, organised by ActionAid OXFAM and Small Scale Women Farmers Organisation (SWOFON).
