The Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) has decried the lack of a well coordinated breeding policy as the bane of the development of livestock breeding in the country.
Members of the institute who had converged on the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, for a special workshop said this was epitomised by the attendant lack of detailed animal production data, non-regulation of the animal breeding practice and non involvement of experts in the use of Assisted Reproductive technologies.
