The Ogun State government has called on residents of the state to desist from acts that could lead to desert encroachment in an attempt to mitigate the effect of climate change.
The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr Bolaji Oyeleye, stated this while briefing newsmen in commemoration of the 2016 World Environment Day.
He added that desert encroachment was a critical environmental challenge that the state had to deal with in recent times.
